As part of the Local Agencies Serving Immigrants (LASI) consortium, JFS offers job search workshops through the World Skills Employment program. These 3-day workshops are offered at JFS once a month, and there is no charge to attend. The only eligibility requirement is that the participant be a newcomer to Canada (5 years or less, landed immigrant, or convention refugee).
Job assistance also offers job readiness workshops and limited courtesy individual support to permanent residents and convention refugees, in order that they become knowledgeable and skilled in the successful practices for obtaining work, commensurate with their experience and skill set.
To learn more and to register for all employment workshops at JFS, please contact Sheldon Taylor, Employment Counsellor, at 613.722.2225, ext.500, staylor@jfsottawa.com .
