The following is
a list and description of the different funds under Jewish
Family Services of Ottawa.
For a minimum contribution
of $12. to any of these funds, a card can be sent to convey
the appropriate sentiment, celebrate a special event, or mark a milestone in someone's life.

Official receipt for income tax purposes, which will
be mailed at
the end of each quarter.
Bar Mitzvah Wish
Fund
Created by Elisha Zarecki in honour of his Bar Mitzvah,
funds are allocated to needy children to enhance the celebration
of their Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
Ezra Fund
This is an emergency poverty relief fund, including food
vouchers and emergency services which may be short-term
and/or temporary.
Jewish Holidays Fund
Different funds exist to help needy
Jews celebrate particular holidays in a meaningful way.
These include funds
for Rosh Hashanah, Chanukah, Purim,
and Passover. This fund also supports an annual Seder
for new immigrants in the Russian and Hebrew languages,
as well as a community-wide Seder, including costs for
low-income families.
Koved Fund for Seniors
Established to support "seniors helping seniors"
programs and services.
Noadic Fund
This emergency relief fund provides for emergency financial
assistance including food vouchers and bus tickets
to
non-Jewish clients.
Russian Centre Fund
Funds are used to guarantee programs, resource materials,
equipment and services that enhance the Jewish identity
of Russian immigrants living in Ottawa.
Shalom Bayit
This program raises awareness of domestic violence issues
within the Jewish community. In addition, Shalom Bayit
supports projects aimed at victims of domestic violence.
Special Projects
Funds are used to pursue new initiatives that the agency
wishes to establish.
Special Events Funds
Celebrating a milestone or
special event? In lieu of gifts, consider
naming JFS as a beneficiary for donations in your
honour.
JFS will send you a beautiful certificate
listing those who contributed on your behalf.
Charitable donation receipts will
be issued for all donations of $18. or more.

that we can set up your fund BEFORE your friends
