2010 Friends of JFS Campaign

Dear Friends,
For 30 years Jewish Family Services of Ottawa has reached out to meet the needs of our Jewish Community. We are now recognized as an innovative service provider offering assistance to all who live in Ottawa.
Your support has helped JFS to create satellite programs at many local synagogues and in projects such as “Engaging Immigrant Seniors” which replicates the Thelma Steinman Seniors Support Services in an effort to serve local ethnic seniors. As a result of these efforts, JFS has evolved into a full spectrum multi-cultural hub, able to share our expertise and assist other communities in building a healthier future.
Last year, your support made it possible for us to continue to meet the needs of our community.
Together, we were able to purchase a wheel chair accessible minivan, create a social action program to engage the Jewish community, and establish “The Jewish Immigrant Aid Service Outreach Leadership Training” (JOLT), which is designed to explore Jewish identity.
We could not have attained these accomplishments without the generous support of our funders and our friends, all of whom continue to support our initiatives. For that, we thank you.
Recently, our funders have begun a series of financial cut backs, including Jewish employment support. We are turning to you, our friends, to help maintain and expand the JFS programs which meet the needs of our expanding community.
Together, Jewish Family Services has become the premier social service agency in Ottawa. Our foremost objective is to continue to reach out and meet the ever-changing needs of our community; with your help, WE CAN! Let's continue to make Ottawa a compassionate and caring Jewish community. Join us, and become a “Friend of JFS”.
